Afin Bank was born from a simple idea - to create a bank where our customers feel welcome. We recognise the need to make banking effortless and accessible, especially for those who may face barriers due to certain factors such as their nationality or visa status.
Our journey is rooted in addressing the challenges faced by non-UK passport holders, especially those from Africa. Whether they reside in the UK or live abroad and hold aspirations of home ownership or property investment within the UK, they may encounter certain obstacles in establishing banking relationships.
A commitment to addressing this gap gave birth to Afin Bank. Our vision extends beyond merely providing financial services, it encompasses the creation of an inclusive environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds can feel valued and supported.
Our Parent
WAICA Reinsurance Corporation PLC (WAICA Re) is a West African sub-regional reinsurance company with its headquarters in Sierra Leone. The company was founded in 2011 by the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA), an association of insurance companies operating in Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone and The Gambia. WAICA Re operates through four (4) Regional Offices across Africa namely Lagos (Nigeria), Accra (Ghana), Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) and Tunis (Tunisia). It also has four (4) Subsidiary Companies namely, WAICA Re Zimbabwe Limited in Harare (Zimbabwe), WAICA Re Kenya in Nairobi (Kenya), WAICA Re DIFC in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and investment company called WAICA Re Capital in Accra (Ghana).
